Who Am I

November 13th, 2009

I am the guy that is privileged to be a citizen of the United States and to work in our dynamic and entrepreneurial economy.

I am the guy that led the team that worked smart, hard and fast to capture opportunities and value for Sonera in the United States.

I am the guy who created relationships with and worked with four other US wireless Telecom to create what became T-Mobile in the US.

I am the guy who led Sonera’s US based team that created great value for all stakeholders, including Nordic stakeholders, all Americans, and our team.

I am the guy who led Sonera’s US team that delivered gains exceeding $1.6 billion for all stakeholders.

I am the guy who led the team that delivered great gains that will provide medical, education, and retirement security for tens of thousands of Nordic citizens.

I am the guy who objects to Sonera’s switching our team from participation in our great success to participation in the financial mess Nordic leaders created.

I am the guy that objects to self-concerned, self-serving Nordic leaders seizing his team’s promised small share of those gains.

I am the guy that objects to cheating Nordic leaders violating his trust, and virtually every legal, moral and ethical protection and commitment to seize our team’s honestly and fairly earned stake in a great success.

I am the guy that objects to cheating Nordic leaders stealing health care, education, and retirement security from our families and all Americans.

I am the guy that seeks to give back a part of our great success to support Diabetes research and to help disadvantages seniors.

I am the guy that has been married for many years and is blessed with a wonderful wife, two great children and their spouses and three grandchildren.

I am the guy that will fight to the death to recover the financial, health care, education, and retirement security that cheating Nordic leaders seized from our families and all Americans.

I am the guy that did the Right Thing.  I expect you to do the same..

Why Do Nordic Leaders Want to Cheat US Citizens

November 2nd, 2009

We choose to treat Nordic citizens, as we would like to be treated.

We ask Nordic leaders to choose to treat us in the same manner.

We worked, smart, hard and fast to create opportunities and value for Sonera in the US.

We captured opportunities generated by the US economy and US entrepreneurial drive.

We captured gains exceeding $1.6 billion for Sonera in the United States.

We are pleased and proud that we delivered great results for all stakeholders.

We are pleased and proud that we earned a secure future for our families.

Most of those gains, 97%, belong to TeliaSonera’s shareowners.

Most of those gains belong to the Citizens of Sweden and Finland.

Most of those gains will ultimately pay for Nordic social services.

Most citizens in Sweden and Finland will benefit from our work.

Only 3% of those gains belong to our team and other US citizens.

Sonera’s leaders seized our small 3% stake in our great success.

Sonera’s leaders switched us to a worthless share of their financial mess.

Sonera’s leaders discriminated against our team and all US citizens.

Finland’s’ leaders encouraged and supported seizing our earnings.

TeliaSonera, Sweden and Finland’s leaders support ongoing seizures.

Why do Nordic leaders think Nordic rules apply for work by US citizens in the United States?

Why do Nordic leaders think it is right to violate our constitutional protections?

Why do Nordic leaders think it is right to violate treaties, agreements and OECD Guidelines?

Why do Nordic leaders think it is right of violate TeliaSonera’s Shared Values

Why do Nordic leaders think it is right of violate TeliaSonera’s Code of Ethics

Why do Nordic leaders think it is honest and fair to seize our share of a great success?

Why do Nordic leaders think they can protect their citizens but not US partners?

Why do Nordic leaders think they can steal our children’s education, health, and social security?

Why do Nordic leaders think they can steal the future from our children and grandchildren?

Why do Nordic leaders think US citizens will continue to purchase goods from Nordic Cheats?

We gave all Nordic citizens great gains to pay for education, health, and social security.

We earned monies for all of those needs for our children and grandchildren.

We at Nordic Ethics stand ready to solve this situation honestly and fairly.

We invite Nordic leaders to work with us to do just that.

We ask US citizens to give Finland and Sweden a timeout.

Stop buying goods and services from Finland and Sweden.

We invite all interested parties to evaluate our point of view.

Pay Benchmarks and Fairness–U.S. vs. Nordic

March 31st, 2009

Mr, Lilliberg,

Thank you for your comments.  Permit me to make a few points.

First, Nordic pay levels and standards are not relevant to this discussion.  Your country agreed long ago that host country, in this case U.S., pay standards are the relevant benchmark for executives working in the United States.  My salary and bonus pay were modest and competitive by U.S. standards.  Higher U.S. productivity levels, treatment of social needs, and many other cultural factors are among the reasons why compensation practices are different between our countries.

Our U.S. team created great value for all to share in the U.S.  Our Nordic partners realized great value in the U.S. economy under U.S. standards.  Your side claimed all the benefits of U.S. standards.  Your side tried to use Nordic standards to set our compensation.  Now, your side seeks to use Nordic standards to justify the wrongful taking of our team’s share of the great results we produced in the U.S.  That’s just plan wrong.  It violates all of the moral, ethical and legal standards Nordic business and political leaders claim to stand for.

Nordic leaders promised us a share of any results we produced in the United States to engage and encourage us to give our best efforts.  We delivered great results, great gains.  Your leaders took all, 100% of the results we produced, including our small 3% share.  Other similarly situated but money losing executive teams received retroactive protection of their interests.  Our successful money winning team did not.  Where is the fairness and justice in your leaders’ actions?  We protected your interests.  Who protected our interests?

Nordic business and political leaders caused this problem.  Nordic leaders failed to agree on incentive schemes on a timely basis.  Meanwhile we delivered exceptional gains in the U.S.  Granting our team the promised share of those gains, doing the right thing, was politically risky.  So Nordic leaders seized our small share of the great result we produced by switching us to a future incentive scheme.  Sonera got a great result, a great harvest from our work.  Then they switched us to a future harvest already made worthless by their failures.  Why should anyone in the United States trust Nordic leaders who support such self-serving actions.

Today all of the people of Finland and Sweden own a part of the results we produced though State ownership of TeliaSonera shares.  At some point, they all will benefit when the State uses the proceeds from selling its TeliaSonera shares to help pay for healthcare, education, retirement and other benefits.  Our team will never benefit from any of those Nordic schemes.  Frankly, my colleagues’ and I earned better treatment for our families.  The bottom line is that your children and grandchildren will benefit from our work and results.  Ours will not.  And that is just plain wrong!

Moreover, your leaders have stolen opportunities from all Americans.  My plan is to contribute one-third of the incentive we earned to support Diabetes research and programs for disadvantaged elderly in the United States.  Another one-third or more will go to pay U.S. income takes.  Our team will share the remaining one-third of the incentive we earned.  Our shares will most probably go to pay for healthcare, education and retirement security.  So, as in your country, most of our 3% share of the great results we produced will go to provide benefits for others.

I hope this helps you to understand, if not agree with, my point of view.  The main problem appears to be that your side earned a lot of money with our help and guidance in our economy and our culture.  Yet your culture makes it difficult to share that bounty with us.  I look forward to the time when Nordic leaders respect our team and all U.S. citizens enough to bring fairness and justice to this matter.

Meanwhile, I would look for decreasing U.S. sales of Nordic goods as your side’s self-concerned attitudes and actions become more widely known in our country.

Nordic Ethics Launches Blog

November 18th, 2008

It is called Pay for Performance.

We performed!  We gave great results and great gains.

Our Nordic partners did not want to pay.

So they gave us worthless securities and a deaf ear.

And they breached our trust as they broke the rules.

We are launching this blog to bring Transparency, Accountability, Fairness and

Justice to a situation complicated by cultural differences.

We invite your comments and your advice.
