SHARING
OUR SUCCESS
We plan to share our success with our
fellow Americans. We hope to find ways to support programs
for disadvantaged elderly and Diabetes research. |
|
We want to share our success with our fellow
Americans. To that end, we hope to find ways to assign up to
one-third of the assets seized by TeliaSonera to the
AARP Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation.
AARP is the largest membership organization for people 50+.
AARP’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for all as we
age. AARP has 40 million members. The AARP FOUNDATION
is the leading philanthropic organization dedicated to
confronting the economic challenges that Americans face as they
age. With help from a legion of compassionate donors and
dedicated volunteers, the AARP Foundation work to help the most
vulnerable in our society: those with incomes below the median,
women, people of color and those who live alone.
CLICK TO MAKE A GIFT During
this economic crisis, more and more seniors need a helping hand
to make ends meet. AARP and the AARP Foundation help with
immediate assistance and solutions. You can help with the
increasing needs of seniors in crisis by donating to the AARP

The JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH
FOUNDATION is the leader in research seeking a cure
for type 1 Diabetes in the world. It sets the global agenda for
Diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and
advocate of Diabetes science worldwide.
JDRF’s mission is to find a cure for Diabetes and its
complications through the support of research. Type 1 Diabetes
is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults
suddenly, and can be fatal. Until a cure is found, people with
type 1 Diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give
themselves insulin injections multiple times or use a pump -
each day, every day of their lives. And even with that intensive
care, insulin is not a cure for Diabetes, nor does it prevent
its eventual and devastating complications, which may include
kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and
amputation.
Finland has the highest incidence of type 1 Diabetes in the
world, 36.5 per 100,000 people per year. Type 1 Diabetes occurs
in 27.5/100,000 people in Sweden and 15.0/100,000 people in the
United States. Diabetes related health issues are said to
account for roughly 10% of worldwide health care costs.
CLICK TO MAKE A GIFT JDRF
continues to make progress toward a cure for type 1 Diabetes.
Your donation will make a dramatic impact as JDRF moves life
altering research out of the lab and into human clinical trials.
Typically, more than 85 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly
support research and research-related education.
